Rafting Route 62
We have opened up an exciting new section of river in the heart of the Breede river valley.
Never been run commercially before. The trip is about 12 km long and winds its way down, passing
some of the nicest wine estates in the valley.
The bird life is incredible, in quantity and
variety, and there is always the chance of spotting the elusive otter. Watch the Fish Eagles
soar against the majestic Langeberg Mountains, the Kingfishers hover above the water before
diving in for a meal or the friendly African Darters open their wings as you float pass them.
The river is gentle enough for first timers, with enough small rapids to make it exciting.
This is an unforgettable experience for the whole family. So if you have driven the scenic
Route 62 and enjoyed it, then why don't you try and paddle it.
Itinerary
- Meet at Robertson Backpackers and sign indemnity forms.
- The group is then transported to the river.
- A safety briefing is given by the guides.
- Each person is issued with a boat ( 2 persons per boat ), paddle and lifejacket.
- Dry bags are available for personal belongings and cameras.
- The trip includes, biscuits, soft drinks and a picnic lunch, which is enjoyed on the banks
of the river.
- The group is then transported back to Robertson Backpackers.
- Accommodation is available.
What to bring
Sun block, hat/cap, wet/dry shoes, camera, towel/sarong, warm clothes, costume, and
sunglasses (with straps). Fishing tackle and extra drinks if desired.
Cost
- Adults R 400-00 pp
- Children u/13 R 300-00 pp
( Included : boats, equipment, catering and in-trip transport. All our guides are accredited
and have current first aid certificates )
